Telling apart zero records and non-existent records

Postby Guille » Thu Jan 23, 2003 3:31 am

In one of our formulas, we need to check if, for a given period, we have an entry for a certain value type. If it exists we have to add its amount to a subtotal, otherwise we have to ad an amount with a value type we know for sure that it exists.

The problem is that there could be zero values with this special value type that must be taken into account, and we don't know how to tell them apart from the non-existent ones. As far as I know, there's no difference for BPS between a zero record and a non-existent record, so we don't know how to solve this.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

As SEM will only select data where key figures are non zero, I can only suggest you add an extra key figure to the cube, which will always have a value, and include it in the selection.
