Best-before date field

Postby vicmvalencia » Fri Jul 19, 2013 4:54 pm

Hi gurus...

Need your help. On Usage Decision, for a lot origin 04, appears the Shelf Life Expiration or Best-Before Date field, but it does not appear with the origin 01.

Where and how do I set up that field? I mean, What do I have to do so it appears always or remove it? And, how do I set up the "living" time for the material so it calculates the Best_Before Date?

I´ll appreciate any advise.

Thank you very much.

On an 01, the best_before date or SLED (Shelf-life expiration Date in SAP terminology), is calculated at the time of GR. It is dependent on the material master data maintained, some config settings and what is entered by the receiver at the time of goods receipt. Usually this date is meant to be a reflection of vendor provided information since only they know when the product was made and how long the shelf-life should be. You shouldn't really be changing this info normally in most business processes.

The primary thing to maintain is "shelf life" in the material master.
