Calculated characteristics - formulas?

I'm trying to set up some calculated characteristics. I've done a basic one before (C00020-C00010) but I'm trying to do something more advanced.

10 Input 1
20 Input 2
30 Input 3
100 Input 10
110 Max of inputs 1-10
120 Min of inputs 1-10
130 ((Sum of inputs 1-10)-C00110-C00120)/8
(End result is the average of 1-10 after dropping highest and lowest.)

10-100 are input characteristics, while 110-130 are calculated characteristics. Is there a way to do something like max(C00010:C00100)? How about min and sum?

Ok, no answers for a week. So either I'm being stupid and should know where to find examples, or nobody else knows how either. Which is it?

No. I don't think you'll be able to do this using the available functions.

You can create your own however. Create a FM and than assign it to ZO.

Your formula would than be ZO0100

ZO would than have to figure out the characteristics to use, look up all the data and return the result.

Dear Craig
I have read you most of the post in which you told that use Z00010.
I have tired by making z0 parameter. But while i assign in plan as Z00010. i got this message

Variable Z00010 in items 0 and 6 can not be identified.
Message no. RN011

how can i come out this problem.

My question is why u are creating 10 separate characteristics?
you can use one MIC 0010 only and use "single Result Recording" in control indicator.
then create a sampling procedure of size 10 to the MIC in inspection plan.

Now at the time of result result recording you can record 10 inputs and system will automatically calculates the following:

1- Maximum value
2- Minimum Value
3- Avergae/mean
4-Standard deviation

and you can use above values to print on the report.

but if you want separte MIC'S that shows
1- only maximum value the u can use MIC 20 with formula BA00010*1
2- only avergae value the u can use MIC 30 with the formula C00010*1
