Inspection lot for type 08 only in some cases

Postby bart jongen » Fri Jan 18, 2013 7:07 am

Dear,

We have a scenario in which we receive a Material (from Purchase orders) in Plant 8999 (without QM).
Later we transfer (Movement type 301) this Material from Plant 8999 to either Plant 8100 or Plant 8800.
Because Inspection type 08 is set in the Material (for both Plants 8100 and 8800), this Transfer posting triggers the creation of an Inspection lot.
This is desired, however, if we do a Transfer posting (also Movement type 301) from Plant 8100 to Plant 8800 or vice versa we DON'T want an Inspection lot to be created.
Does anyone know how we can configure this in SAP (without an additional copy of Movement type 301)?
Thanks in advance for any clues!
Kind regards,

Since the material movement type and material's QM data in receiving plant determines lot creation, you cannto avoid it at the out set.

You may look at exploring Q-info record: Create QM info record for material vendor combination in the receiving plant and flag Q Info record to have No Inspection in Inspection Control field in Inspection Control tab. If this works you need make sure all such Q-info records are always maintained this way.
If this does not work we ned to look at an exit of some sort to have Plant code based control, but that may be ugly.
There could be more ways, at Q-inf pops up in my head right away.
