Quality checklists while implementing SAP

Hi

I am from the QA area and i am very new to the SAP world and trying to understand SAP and how it works. Our company is very big and we are trying to convert everything to SAP as part of transistion process. Currently we are in blue printing phase and i wanted to know as part of QA, what can be done in this phase, and what contribution can be made from QA perspecive.

Are there any checklists or quality checks or processes that we need to take care of to make sure that we successfully move from the blueprinting phase to realization phase. The same question extends to go from realization to go live phase.

That's really too big of a question for a technical forum on the net. In addition it is mostly a consulting question and without a knowledge of your business or industry it's almost impossible to give you anything very substantial.

Given that, most of the go-live issues that arise for QM involve the master data. The configuration and customizations are usually pretty minor things.

So from a QA perspective, the biggest thing I think you should be focsued on is getting the master data correct, loaded properly and verified.

Am not sure what is the concept of this master data in SAP. I am guessing it would be something like a meta data. I think i need to do more reading about SAP to get an idea of the terminology.

Hi hkondamudi,
just my curiousity, are you implementing QM in a service based enviorment or manufacturing, also is QM being implemented standalone or integrated with other modules.

i'm trying to study more on QM's applicability in service industry
