Follow up action to create batch masters

Hello QM Gurus,

Does anyone have any experience in setting up a follow up action to create batch masters? Where our batch management is plant-level, STOs cannot be created where there is no corresponding batch in the receiving plant. We need a function module to execute MSC1N where a plant/ material record is found and to copy through the batch characteristics after the usage decision is made. Any tips / advise would be great
