How to skip batch classification during sample valuation

Postby MIGO101 » Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:47 am

Dear forum members,
I normally create all MICs with reference to class characteristics, so SAP is doing its thing of passing the test results to batch classfication at the time of sample valuation in inspection lot.
But my client requirement is, they want to pass only the '04' inspection test results to batch classification, but not the '03' test results of that batch.
My only first thought as of now is to create 2 sets of MICs; one without ref to class chars to be used in '03' insp plans and other with reference to class chars to be used in '04' insp plans. I was wondering if anyone has a better suggestion than this; like for example can we use a using a user exit or something that will come into play at the time of inspection point (sample) valuation and there can we write a code to stop the batch classification if the insp lot is '03' origin ?

My first question is why is the 03 UD happenning after the 04 UD?

Run the 03 UD job more often.

There is a UD check user exit that you could maybe use to see if the 03 UD is done. If not, block the 04 UD until the 03 is done.

QEVA0010 UD: Usage decision check

Thanks for response Craig.
No the 03 test takes before 04. But the 03 test might require different characteristics tested from 04 test and I am using only one batch class that has all QM class charactetistics. So, right now the 03 results are also going to batch classification and client doesn't want those going to batch

Ok.

Well, then you need to set up additional batch classes and remove the ones you don't want transferred.

The other option is this.

1) In config, turn OFF the indicator for the plant QM settings that says "Batch valuation without material spec"
2) maintain the material spec and remove the general characteristic from the ones you don't want transferred. Save it.

Now, only those characteristics with both the MIC and general characteristic showing in the material spec will transfer results to the batch.

One caution: Any time you enter QS61, all the general characteristics will magically reappear and need to be deleted again. Only access the material spec via display only, QS62 unless you have to make a change.
