Could a workflow return a dialog box to transaction

Postby alozars » Fri Oct 24, 2008 3:15 am

Hi!.

I'm quite new on workflows. Our users work in CJ20N transaction. They activate a user status that launch a workflow, but we would like to insert some validations before execute the process step. Is possible to insert a previous step in my workflow with the validation abap code and return a dialog box to the user?.

Thanks in advance!

Ana.

Hi,

You should consider an exit or enhancement point that validates the data before save of the transaction.
You don't want a workflow to trigger unless conditions are correct.

If the business rule is that the status can be set without validation, but you don't want the workflow to fire in this case.
You can create a check function module and use it in SWETYPV.
Kind Regards,

Ron Johns.

hi!.

Thanks for your answer. We tried to use a function in swetypv but we are not sure if we can return a dialog box for the user or if it's launched with wf_batch user and we not have any possibility to control it.

Do you know if it this possible?.

Thanks for your help!!!!

Hi,

The Check Modules in SWETYPV are not designed to giive a user dialog (as far as I know).
You need to intercept at save using an exit or enhancement point.

Thanks for your reply. We'll try to use an user exit in CJ20N transaction. The object we use is Project definition. BUS2001.
