Purchase Requisition Workflow...

Postby lmeljalb » Mon Jun 09, 2008 12:18 pm

We are looking at implementing SAP workflow for purchase requisitions.

I wanted to check on two things and really am having a hard time finding a good resource. Is there an online site that can give a really good overview of purchase req workflow?

My two specific questions...

Is it possible to configure workflow for the aggregate value of the requisition or is it always by line item. I have heard/read conflicting info on this. I took an SAP class on purchasing SCM520 I think and they said it is only line item specific. But, I found some SAP 4.6c documentation that says it is possible for the whole purchase requisition???

Also - how are emergencies handled? Is there a way to denote a req is an emergency to bypass approvals?

Thank you!

You can read this link:

Anyway, I can't understand what it's trying to say when i first read it.
Business Object: BUS2009 - line item release
BUS2105 - overall release
Std Workflow: WS00000038 - line item release
WS20000077 - overall release
Role: Item-Wise Release - Role 00000148 (tcode PFAC)
Overall Release - Role 20000026

You can do overall release. No problem with this. In fact, I've done several worflows with overall release, but none with item release.

By pass approval? I don't think you can. But anyway, one can always execute the work item through tcode SWIA.
Perhaps the person can just approve it without waiting for the actual approver.

I am not sure about Version 4.6C (I assume that is what you are on), but in ECC6 the options are endless as to what you can do.
It would pay to have a Workflow expert evaluate your requirements and consider starting from scratch.
I have never used a SAP Standard Workflow. to me they are just examples..
