In a new R/3 installation, after the license key is registered, can we use SE38 to make corrections to some function modules ? Do we require a different key for this ? If so, how do we get this key ?

You need a "developer's key" for the user id that will make changes to objects using SE38 or SE37. In addition, to change an SAP object, you need an "object registration key" for each object to be changed. You can get both these keys through OSS (SAPNET) using the REGISTRATION button. If you are not set up with online access to OSS, call their help line at 1-800-677-7271 (in the US).
