sorry mods for bumping this thread .... but it was an interesting read.
may take:
1. if you drink beer,... nationalities and cultures are not a barrier for you. You are already a world citizen and an immaculate one at that :)
2. If you drink guinness you go to the next level...you are now the epitome of human evolution period.

So boys and girls drink lots of guinness

on a more serious front what martin started is basically a global-issue (we big-picture guys seldom gow down to the 'national' level)...
and the only solution (long term mind you) I can see is EDUCATION. Educate the world population. Teach them to be nice to people around them. Teach them to give a little back to their society. Teach them try and see the brighter side of things in bad-times...
Good and bad are like 2 sides of a coin,.. we decide to choose which side... teach people to choose wisely. (now I can go on a rant about good and bad being arbitrary, but no not in this thread)...
See education is the answer... simple isnt it?
So martin: matey,.. dont let the bad times drag you down,.. read a good book,.. drink beer... take a loong bath with a yellow rubber duck,.. have a pangalactic gargleblaster...
and finally meet up with me some time in the us... am moving there in a few weeks... :)
