FL travel

American friends (and Bryson),

Please help.

If you needed to go from Jacksonville to Orlando, would you drive or is there a train option?

Flying is not an option as I am too thrifty.

Amtrak is an option. About 3 hours, 50 USD.
Good luck!

No doubt about it -- I would drive. Depending on how long you are in either city, you may find a car invaluable. Florida has no worthwhile mass transit (there is some, but it sucks).

It also depends a bit on what part of Jacksonville you are coming from. If it is closer to St Augustine, the drive is pretty quick. It can take anywhere from 1.5 hours - 3 hours, depending on your start/end points. The roads are very good.

Landing at the airport (where else). Planning on staying at a nice hotel for 1 or 2 nights before heading to disney for 2 weeks. Then back to jacksonville for another night or 2 before flying back to Gods country

Two weeks, very nice. BTW - are you ever traveling to Grand Rapids again?

Did you put on a few? Do you have your scooter already?

You may feel a bit out of place if the answer to either question is "no." You are supposed to require mechanical help to move your fat ass around Disney.
