Granted. this means you are not born yet and will not be for at least 100 years. And even then you will eventually be killed.

I wish there was a direct flight Riga - Basel

There is. Royal Jordanian AIrways have recently acquired a 1911 Sopwith Camel and begun a red-eye service.

I wish there was a website for good affordable birthday gift ideas for demanding but lovely women.

Granted.. You didn't have all those beers. But as a result you were made designated driver for the night for your friends who all promptly heaved most of the nights beverages and food onto the floor of your car.

My project is almost over! I wish all my end users all would "get it" before I leave!

Granted. You walk into work tomorrow morning to find a roman orgy in progress. With a big grin on your face you shed your clothes to join in only to find you're a eunach.....

I wish I was on a boat, on a calm idyllic lake somewhere, covered in my factor 50 suncream, the sun hot and high in the beautiful blue sky, with not a waterfall, motorway, or any other dangerous object within sight, drinking wine and reading a good book, listening to Joe Satch on my waterproof ipod wearing my life-jacket as all saftey concious people should(Have I thought of everything ?).

Granted.

You have thought of everything. Now your cache of thought(s) is exhausted for the rest of your life.

I wish, winter had already gone and it was going to be spring - starting tomorrow.

And so it happened. But because season depends on Earth's relative position to the Sun, Earth had to cover the rest of the distance by tomorrow, accelerating to about 200 times the usual, destroying itself and all life on it.

I wish there was no such a thing as democracy.

Granted - The Labour party ceases to exist but the current administration makes things even worse. The Government falls but without a credible alternative the country descends into anarchy and the British economy also ceases to exist. The rest of the world doesn't notice.

I wish that Engalnd can beat Australia 5-0 to retain the Ashes!

Granted. Five poofs from each country line up for a "flamboy-off," and your five win hands down (or up, or flailing about, or whatever). The prize is a betamax version of the Polish film The Ashes. You are locked in a cell with the five victors and the film, and may leave only when you explain the plot. None of you know Polish, and you have only a dvd player and a toilet.

I wish toothpaste didn't taste like toothpaste.
