Depreciation Life for SAP

Post by jimjonesdon » Mon Mar 02, 2009 3:29 pm

I am a new install of SAP and looking to depreciate the cost of the software over a useful life. Does anyone have any guidance on how many years are appropriate?

Agree with jhurl, but he is not advising you completely.

Also factor in the school holidays, leap years, lawnmower downtime, airport beer recovery time and sheep farming. Dr Sideswipe and others should be able to help further.

My install of SAP can't post a message or talk to me or anything...how did you get it to do that??? Is this a new version or something??

And over whose useful life? I'm not taking just anyone's word for it that it's a useful life - after all it is SAP we're talking about...

Firstly, you need to know how many years your user going to appreciate SAP, then take into account, how many years it takes to depress your users,
taking both into account, only then you can gauge the depreciation year of SAP.

By that time, you would be depressingly apreciating non SAP products.

Which reminds me not to forget the Inset days for training.

Defecation life can take anywhere from 1 week to 100+ years, depending on environmental conditions, such as humidity, ambient salt levels, and temperature.

surely you mean dessication?
or how long it takes for SAP to suck all the moisture and life out of you.

As for ERP9000 can we give him a name? HAL maybe?
