SAP and SANS

Post by bakeston » Tue Dec 09, 2008 10:51 am

Hi folks,

We are considering upgrading our SAP R/3 (oracle 10g) production box to an IBM Blade with SAN storage. What i would like to know is how best to configure the disks on the SAN? I am aware of the SAP best practices for the distribution of the SAP and Oracle components (seperate the data and archive logs, redo and mirrors etc) but was wondering if this is the case with a SAN array? Can i have one array split into four LUNS or a couple of arrays containing 2 LUNS each or will i need to have four seperate arrays, one LUN each? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Cheers,

Bakes
