Hello!
Has somebody of you already made an product configuration without using the SAP Configurator? I want to know how I can go into the system via rfc and configure new products from the outside world with the sap java connector from an java application in the internet. Can somebody tell wheather it is possible? Thankx!

We have been looking into this as well. The biggest challenge we have faced is related to the dependencies. Our solution is this:
Have a bapi call to retrieve the classification data, for this we modified the standard bapi of: BAPI_CLASS_GET_CHARACTERISTIC. We then utilize the another enhanced bapi to check the configuration: bapi_salesorder_simulate.
We are investigating ITS to see what it might do for us, but this was what we came up with instead of getting the IPC Engine.
