Postby geobchlor » Fri Jun 12, 2009 10:12 am

Hello all
I am new to SAP fans and just getting started with GUIXT. I am having alot of success using the basic scripts but was wondering if i could get some direction/help with scripts moving fields from one tab to another?

I am working with transaction MM03 and and do not have the Guixtassistant. I have del all fields not used on all tabs and would like to move the information we use to two tabs i.e. basic data 1 and classification tab could some one please give me an example or a direction to find the right script to use for this?

thank you in advance

This is not a SAPScript question - moved to SAP Other.

we have a specialist on the topic of guixt here in SAPFans. if he doesn't find this thread by himself, PM Harters. he's really good at it.

Hi geobchlor,

You can't do what you are asking if you do not have the licensed version of GuiXT as the free one is just the basics like deleting fields, renaming them defaulting values e.t.c.

You need the GuiXT Designer version before you can move fields around between screens. If you are licensed then fine, let me know and I'll show you the scripts you need.

(thanks fish !!)

Hi, the previous reply is correct, well, partly.

The Designer Application is a useful, but not necessary tool for moving fields around on your screen. For the functionality that you need, you will need to know a bit more about the GuiXT coding language.

Also, given that you understand the language, you will need to have a GuiXT InputAssistant license to acheive what you want to do, as this is not possible with the core bundled in the SAP GUI.

More or less what i was saying - I'd still use the Designer but anyway, you can't do this without paying for a license of some description

Which is a shame really as there are many times i have been at clients when GuiXT gets us 90% of the way there and then they needed input assistant or others to finish the job and they don't becuase of the costs for the licenses when they have 10,000 users !!

and....at the risk of getting slapped by fish for making a big post...here is the example GuiXT help gives you under "moving fields between tabs"...

SAPMV45A.E4001.TXT

// Example: Order entry with VA01/VA02/VA03 , 3 purchase order fields moved to "Sales" tab
//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
// The solution implemented here allows the user to use both the new entry fields
// and the standard entry fields
// In order to keep all fields synchronized,
// even after re-input on error or warning messages,
// the "Link" command is used in the scripts instead of "Set"
//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
// Requires GuiXT version 2001 Q3 07 and upwards
// Example based on R/3 IDES 4.6C
//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if Q[Transaction=VA01] and Q[Page=Sales]

Set V[Order_Sold_to] "&[Sold-to party]"
Set V[Order_Ship_to] "&[Ship-to party]"

// Reset all fields if new order
if not V[Order_Sold_to] and not V[Order_Ship_to]
Set V[Order_*] " "
endif

// Work with "Offset" depending on field within tab
// to select right screen area

Re: guixt scripts

Postby geobchlor2012 » Tue Oct 16, 2012 6:53 am

Hello again,
three and a half years later my company finally agrees to "GuiXT designer" and am in the trial period.
Would like some help with scripts, I have read as many posts here as I can Handle in one setting about this topic, but bieng very new to scripts would like to see an example of moving objects from one tab to another. I am using transaction MM03 and want to consolidate information. I want to move the "Mfr Part Number" text and entry field from the "Purchasing Tab" to the "Basic Data 1" tab. I see in an older post that the Set or Link command can be used but would like to see an example as everything I have tried so far has not worked. If someone could show an example and maybe some helpfull information to get me started?
Thanks in Advance
