Storing data at higher level, such as price

Postby PPG » Fri Jan 10, 2003 3:50 am

Hi,
Require assistance
I want to store price for a group of products. Instead of entering price for individual level, I want it to be stored at group level. For this, I created a key figure, with no aggregation type 'N'. As I don't want data to be visible at individual material level. In interactive plng, I tried entering data at group level, but system gives message saying it stored, and the price vanishes from the bucket.

deep water of dollars in apo

you are getting into deep water when you are working with price and revenue in apo. The best advise I have is to do your storage of data as total revenue. This can be aggregated and disagreated at all levels like volume. Then if you want to get price you just use a macro to divide revenue by volume.

Thanks George,

But the client wants to arrive at revenue using a planned price at a group level. Copying this prices at the lowest level is not reqd and hence data needs to be stored at a specific level. e.g - group.
