Field Truncation in RSRT

Hi all,

I have a custom field that is being truncated when report is run from RSRT / in BEx query.

The field is CHAR 60, and contains value "1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 9-10 11-12".
Its contents are fine in the infocube, however it being truncated as "1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 9-1" when pulled from RSRT.

Any idea why this is happening?

Hi Pillowcase,

Check the basic definition of the characteristic, first.

What is the characteristics output length set to? it should be 60, just like the internal storage length.

What is the conversion exit assigned? It is responsible for converting the internal storage format value into an external display format. Sometimes the characteristics is created as a template of another with a weird conversion exit that should have been removed or at least replaced with something simple like ALPHA.

Now check the InfoProvider specific properties of the MultiProvider and all the base cubes belonging to it. Do any of them specifically overwrite the display format for that specific characteristic?
