PC steps performance

Postby anya_nanda » Wed Apr 11, 2012 4:36 pm

In my project some of the process chain steps are taking too long.
One example is where a dtp is loading data from one cube to another.
The DTP has a selection criteris with NE xxx, packet size of 1000,000
and Serial extraction, immediate parallel processing as the mode of
extraction. The last load for this dtp step took around 4 hrs and
had Transferred records 4279293, Added records 13399442.The transformations
between the cubes only has 2 rule routines (which use methods inside them)
to compute the 2 values.

Could you please give me a list of pointers/areas I should look at to
find out why it is taking so long for this step? Since this is not the
only PC step that is giving issues, all inputs on how to analyze process
chain poor performance will be appreciated.

Thanks,
annie
