Developers Sharing The Same BW DEV - How?

Postby Guest » Fri Nov 01, 2002 2:30 pm

Is there a good strategy for two (or more) separate development teams to share the same BW DEV client, for simultaneous projects?

Such as naming conventions, change control, meetings (?), etc.

Can two separate DEV clients be created in the same BW DEV, TEST, PROD hierarchy?

Hi!

If you want to share the masterdata then I don't see a real alternative. What you should do, is to have a master data design team or someone who is responsible for this.

It is usual that developers should work together and first think over what they do.

One of the major problems that I see beside the normal software develper synchronization tasks is the transport between systems.

Within team boundaries you should know what changes are made and what objects are effected. But if somebody does "hot fixes" in the production environment or somebody has an object in his own transport that another is goint to transport then errors occur and that can be very unfunny.

The rest is normal software developement.
