Infocube Design for Balanced Scorecard

Postby nteodoro » Thu Oct 31, 2002 12:52 pm

Hi,

We are building the data modelling for the SEM-BSC.

Does anyone has examples of the cube design used for the BSC?

Thanks,
Nelson

B Scorecard

im not logged in at the moment, but essentially a line on a b scorecard is provided by an Query line or column.

Essentially you can select data from any cube that currently exists.

the most effort is in getting the queries in the right format

your analysis should tell you whether you need new cubes or can use existing cubes for your Query sources.

We do not have BW implementent. This means that there is no cube currently available with data.

In this case we need to build/design a cube to contain all the Measures of the balanced scorecard.

My question is which caracteristics/Key figures should be used. At the moment the ideia is to have generic key figures (Amount and Quantity), and the the 0Measure as caracteristic toghether with Value type for reporting.

The BSC allows you to link each measure to a specific Query/Restricted Key figure, so in the future the link to the BSC cube should change to the real cube. B ut in the meantime I just want some experiences related to the design of the BSC Infocube.

Thanks,
Nelson
