Postby Vinod_Chakry on Tue Apr 19, 2005 11:25 pm

Hi BW gurus,

Can any one try to help me out??

I am getting the following error when I try to upload a falt file in to the system.

We are on bw 3.5 version.

Error 8 when compiling the upload program: row 237, message: Data type /BIC/CCACZPRIMARY_COSTS was found in a n

Thanks in advance…

Hi guys

For future reference, I have had the same problem. The error that appeared was:

Error 8 when compiling the upload program: row 248, message: Data type /BIC/CCAB<INFOOBJECT NAME> was found in a new
Message no. RSAR233

If you go to ST22 a TYPELOAD_NEW_VERSION error has occured.

This is probably a bug. To regenerate the error do the following:

1. Create a new infoobject with master data and long texts (language independent)
2. Create a new infosource for direct update of an infoobject.
3. Assign a flat file datasource for the texts.
4. Activate the transfer rules.
5. Preview the flat file. You do now have to select a matching flat file here. Enter any text file you may have.
6. After preview go to the datasource/trans. structure tab in the transfer rules and change the TXTLG field length from 60 to 59.
7. Activate the transfer rules again.
8. Now try to preview the flat file again. Once more, it does not have to be a matching file.
9. The error is generated. Now the data cannot be previewed or loaded from an infopackage. Even deleting the infosource and the transfer rules and regenerating them does not solve the problem.

Resolution: Simple! Just log off BW and log on again!!

I have posted a SAP message on it. Will let you know of the note number once I receive an answer.

FYI, I received a response from SAP below:

Dear Customer,
I have been analyzing this issue for you.

The error you have reported is not a bug. It is a buffering problem.
If you change a transfer rule and activate it, there will still be
information from the previously active program in the buffer. If you
then try to preview the flatfile, you get the error. Therefore, after
changing the transfer rules, you need to restart the Administration
Workbench with transacion RSA1 and then the preview and loading will
work.

So when you logged off and went back in, your buffer was reset.
Keep smiling

Thanks, guys you saved me a lot of time!

So far, I thought SAP is not M$ and you don't have to restart always....
