How do I have to configure my company Fiscal Year Data in BW

Hi ,

I am a beginner to SAP BW.In my company we maintain Fiscal calendar in a table.I have to create reports based on that table data.How do I have to bring that table into SAP BW.Basically we do reports on Fiscal Date , Fiscal Month etc..

I am thinking of saving data into .csv file and transfer that data into BW.I am not sure whether it possible.Appreciate if some body give me some direction on this.

Basically users compare data, year over year ,and 13 weeks this year to 13 weeks last year and some times reports based on Date.

Just extract the relevant charcteristics ie 0fiscper 0fiscyear 0calmonth etc they are standard.

Thank you djbenice. But how does system know my Fiscal calendar starts on certain day.For instance 2011 started on Jan 2nd and 2012 on Jan 1st.

Sorry I assumed you were using SAP as a source system, within ECC/R/3 you maintain the fiscal calendar (txn spro from memory) What is your data source?

Ah just noticed the original post changed, flat file extraction is possible in BW, very straight forward, if you look at the extractorin your BW system for the calendar data you should be able to ascertain the structure of your flat file from there
