Hiding field in component view (CRM 2007)

Postby Dr Sidewalk » Tue Sep 08, 2009 5:09 am

At present when want a particular field set to display only, or hidden, we have to change the screen configuration and either change the attributes of the field, or in the case of hiding actually remove the field. However, this means that you then have to have one configuraion which shows the field, and one which does not. This really annoys me as there must be a better way than this?.
I know that you can dynamically assign the configuration to be used but still you have to have multiple configuations.

Has anyone found a solution/work around for this?.

I've just started playing with the UI and b/c I didn't want to change the views in the delivered roles, every time I copy a role, PFCG, etc... I provide an unique Role Configuration Key in the IMG and assign it to the role. That seems to work for me and is the best I have come up with so far.
