You've cracked the code to load opportunities into CRM, eh? It may be useful to me. I have to turn a flat file of BP and lead information into an opportunity. Will the BAPI work for this purpose?

Thx

Opportunity creation via BAPI

Postby abap_doctor » Tue Feb 25, 2003 8:59 am

The BAPI will (obviously) create an opportuity as you've asked it to. If you can manipulate the data withing ABAP (or Excel!!) and present it to the BAPI in the correct tables, then it will do what you want it to.

The trick is to build the tables correctly. There is no documentation anywhere on the subject... If you find some let me Know!

Most of the tables can be filled with a bit of logical thinking about the field names. The table "INPUT_FIELDS" is the trickyest... Try debugging FM: "CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN_SINGLE_OW" when creating an opportunity manually for hints!!

If you need my code let me know where to send it (10kb ZIP)...

Good luck (you'll need it!!!)

Excellent! Could you send the code to dpoesepp@hotmail.com, please? Thanks for your generosity. If I find any info on the table structures or have any useful epiphanies, I'll let you know.

Thanks again,

Hi Michael,

do you have problems on creating materials in CRM or on adding item lines/products to an opportunity?

If the second one is your problem, take a look at the coding i posted in the article i linked in my last posting ...

Hi Peter,

thanx a lot for your quick reply - it helped me a lot!
Now I'm able to put items on my opportunities!
:D

I now only have problems with the product-table (where I assume the quantity is written in field PROCESS_QTY_NUM).

:?:
What Object-name in the table input_fields shall I use?
I can't get the object-name PRODUCT_I to work?
Regards

Hello Michael,

for quantity try using table SCHEDULELINE field QUANTITY.

For table PRODUCT try using objectname PRODUCT.

Good Luck!
