Import Intranet Data to SmartForm

Postby PJA » Mon Feb 27, 2012 6:38 am

Hi all,

Trawled the internet, but couldn't find anything suitable..

This client wants to create a SmartForm which imports data from an intranet page.

Is this possible, if so, how is it done (in simplistic terms as I know nothing about SmartForms..)??

Would the smartform printing be called by the Intranet page itself (as in filling form field in the page, click print) or is there some static data stored on a page that you want to read when printing the smartform (not from the page itself) ?

At present the documents are stored on the intranet as htl, pdf and Word documents.

What would be the easiest/optimum solution using SmartForms??

Mu :?

That's an... interesting requirement. I'm afraid I can't provide any easy solution.
You may have more options with Adobe forms (but don't quote me on this).

Thanks for the replies...

OK, we've now changed the requirements slightly.

And I've gone back to SAPScript which I use to popup a screen to choose a URL link. The code then opens the requested URL and they can print using the native software e.g. Word, PDF, browser, etc.

So now we need to ensure the user ONLY uses the PRINT-PREVIEW option and not the PRINT option..

When I stick a message in the code if the user PRINTS, then the standard PM order program (IW32) performs a save.

Any ideas on how to issue a message and return to the shop paper selection screen?
