text element where-used information

Postby hibird » Thu Oct 21, 2010 10:17 pm

Dear friends,

As we all knows, we used SO10 to maintain standard text. However, is there any way to list out all forms which are using this text element?

Supposing below case: we found that we need to change 1 standard text for 1 form, we should run SO10 to edit. However, we have to consider whether this text element is used in other forms to evaluate the consequence of this change.

Any idea?

I doubt there is a standard solution for that, but you can write a simple ABAP program where you use READ_TEXT function to get content of all forms and then search by text name

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion. However, I was curious about how to read text_element via function read_text. I knew this function, but I think this is mainly used to read existing text from object, such as read text from order, but not sure how to specify a text element from form. Maybe you could quote a short program to demo it.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Try running it with ID = 'TXT' and OBJECT = 'FORM' parameters. NAME - your form name

Form is a standard text in the end so it is stored as standard text.
