Medruck / sapfm06p - material PO texts? {RESOLVED}

Postby Skelp » Tue Sep 22, 2009 4:14 am

Hi all

I am trying to find out which text element is triggered in MEDRUCK by SAPFM06P for material PO texts. We are using a Z copy of medruck but standard SAPFM06P and need to include the material PO texts in the printout. I have been debugging all morning but I can't seem to pinpoint it. Any help gratefully received!

Set a breakpoint at function module READ_TEXT and look at the values for the call(s). SE30 is another way to find stuff like this quickly, i.e., to view the call stack and drill into a particular code point to set a breakpoint.

A couple of great suggestions, thanks BradB.

Unfortunately this has highlighted the fact that during print there isn't a call to READ_TEXT at all - either the texts are passed through direct from the program to the sapscript, or they aren't passed at all. I am assuming that the fact that the texts are displaying in ME23N for a PO means that they are configured correctly for pulling through to the PO from MM. There might be some further config required to send them to print? Thats what I'm off to investigate now.

I really want to avoid having to copy and amend the print program.

Maybe have a look at table T166P - it seems to be used to configure the printing of those texts.

Edit to add :
In customizing : Material Management / Purchasing / Messages / Texts for Messages / Define Texts for Purchase Order

Cheers Gothmog, I have had a look there and the texts (F03) are configured for PO create and change (1 & 2) - further debugging of the prog has led me to believe that the text element ITEM_TEXT is where they should be (I have created a PO with both item text (F01) and material PO text (F03)) but when the print program include LMEDRUCKF18 reaches the call for this element, the internal table xt166p is empty.

Much head-scratching going on here - I have a feeling that I am missing something really simple, and I know that once I find it it will be a 5 minute job to add these texts to the output.

Have you checked the customizing above for your Operation/Document type/Item type/... ?
Is there any entry in T166P that should be in internal table xt166p, but isn't selected ?

You can try putting a breakpoint in form prepare_item_text (include LMEDRUCKF1H) and debug from there.

Brilliant - thanks Gothmog! Debugging there meant that I saw that it was a subcontracting PO type, which wasn't in the customizing. Added it in and voila - calls to ITEM_TEXT element are now happening. A quick add to our ZMEDRUCK and we have some happy users.

I knew it was something simple I had missed :oops:
