Software tools for Production data transfer to Development

Hi all,

What third party software tools are available in the market for transfer of selected data from Production to Development system ? Since the production system is growing at a very fast rate, complete database copy is no longer a viable option for us. At the same time we need live production data in development client for testing. I have come across "Select Refresh" from Solonis, Inc that can serve the purpose.

We are just exploring the market. Does anybody know or use any similar tools ?

Thanks,

Chual

Hummmm....

I think that partial copies could lead to a problem in that you have to be absolutely certain that all dependancies are also copied.

However, as this is a recurring problem (ie no data in development to work with), let me know how it goes.

Hi Chual,

At the SAPTeched last year they covered this topic briefly and here are some of the Third party tools that were mentioned in relation to transferring subsets of production data to development:

InfoShuttle (http://www.getgamma.com/infoshuttle)
Pecaso Clone & Test (http://www.ehr-solutions.com/index.htm)
Arinso Transfer Tool (http://www.arinco.com)
EPI-USE Data Sync Manager for HR (http://www.epiuse.com/products/sap.php)

There should also be an article on PDS (Production Data Simulation) at http://www.sap.info by searching on InfoShuttle.

Hope this helps,
Doris

Manoj:

How comfortable are you with EPI? Is there a way to contact you guys to have a conversation over the phone. Our client is interested in ourchasing either Pecaso or EPI. I personally found Pecaso more friendly, but EPI more dynamic, although it is required a lot of time configuring the different scenarios.
