Cumulative locks

Postby chris55 » Fri Mar 27, 2015 11:51 am

Just been reading some material about the SAP Lock Concept, including the excellent stuff on this site from Rich. A question springs to mind: when would you want to use cumulative locking - i.e. placing a lock on a set of records and then placing another lock on the same records, in the same program, before you've released the first lock?

That's actually a good question.
I had a hunt around but could not come up with a sensible answer either.
Looking in SM12 I can see plenty of examples where cumulative locks are used - notably EBAN.
So if anyone has the answer, I would be interested to know too.
