Excel formula valid for all excel installation language

Postby silly » Tue Apr 15, 2014 8:32 am

Hi all,
I send by email an excel created by an internal table
To be able to provide the excel with material number with leading zero , example 000.145 , on table field I've insert directy the formula MID

concatenate '=MID("9.' out-matnr '";3;7)' into matnr.
* =MID("9.000.145";3;7)

This run well, I'm able to open the excel with right material number
But I''ve excel installed in language EN, If user who receive the email has excel in IT , function MID is not find out and formula return #NOME?

Do you know which formula I have to transfer that will be valid for all excel language installation ?

Thank a lot

None. Maybe a macro would help.

I would say the problem is in the creation of your excel data - you should not let excel think this material number is a number, and have it as text with the relevant leading 0s.
In fact, never let excel automatically format your data, it just leads to awful problems.
Actually, never let excel automatically do anything.

Enclose the value in double quotes prefixed with an equals sign, like this:
Code: Select all
="000.145"

Award cash if useful.
