SAP memory release

Postby Zavaros » Mon Feb 27, 2017 1:14 pm

hello colleagues,

do you know about any document that describes when and how is the memory allocated by user released.

As I know the Extended memory and heap should be freed when the user finishes the transaction. I communicated it to Customer also.
Current issue is that a single user grabs all available page memory (bugged F-03 transaction) therefore that all other users dumps with NO_PAGE_MEMORY error until the user logs out.

So I would like to prepare for next Customer session to avoid further decrease of trust.

Hi,

Shat is your OS? depending on the OS, your SAP memory parameters might not be right and then causing this issue.

I had this situation when I migrated from AIX to Linux... a parameters was too low.

Thanks.

Please check SAP note 941735

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/941735

If you System is with SAP Kernel 7.40 and higher:
With SAP Kernel 7.40, some general improvements in SAP memory management system are available: In this way, for example, the ROLL memory was removed, and the zero administration memory management based on PHYS_MEMSIZE was reintroduced. For more information, see SAP Note 2085980.
In addition, much of the table buffer has been reimplimented and the parameter "rsdb/tbi_buffer_area_MB" has been introduced as a result. SAP Note 2103827 describes its dimensioning and provides further details.
