Automatically deactiviation os queue item

Post by Geeth » Thu Dec 03, 2015 8:50 am

Hi Gurus,

A queue item is automatically deactivated if the state of the record in the queue item changed from Active to Inactive. What could be the reason for the queue getting deactivated. The system was not shutdown? Dont see any isues or errors in the logs. Any other reason the queue can get deactiated?
Thanks
Geeth

Hello,

If you mean print queues then it is normal.
We used to use LPRNG instead of os printer daemon because in LPRNG this feature can be disabled.

The drawback is that we have lot of dead printers with active print requests ... and the daemon tries to reconnect the dead printers every 30 seconds. So we had to implement a housekeeping job that deletes all requests older than 3 months.

Regards,

Zav
