Print to file

Postby Mattsava » Fri Feb 14, 2014 4:20 am

I am trying to setup a printer in SPAD to print spools to a drive on the server, this is on a windows OS. I have created a printer using device type ASCIIPRI with access method L and using the command set ID option as per SAP note 161516 method 1 -

Command set for transferring the print data
\\hostname\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\exe\run\print.cmd &F
The script print.cmd -
@echo off
rem %1 file name
set target=E:\usr\sap\HNZ\DVEBMGS01\spool
REM copy file
cmd /c copy %1 %target% >> error.log

This works is as I can created a spool on the server that can be viewed as a text file. The problem I have is that I can't adapt the command to transfer print data to save the spool as anything other than <SPOOLNAME>.<SID>. The format I would like is <JOBNAME>.txt. I have tried different parameters after the &F but it makes no difference to the format of the file name. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello,

you can fiddle with the parameter: rspo/host_spool/print

in one of our systems the customer wanted to count the pages printed by users. We therefore had to set the username in the print request instead of sidadm.
in that environment the parameter was:
Code: Select all
rspo/host_spool/print = cd &p; /usr/sap/lprng/bin/print.sh -N -H<host> -P&P -U&o -J&f -r -h -#&C &f 2>&&1

the documentation:
