New app server no RFC

Postby miataboy » Thu Jan 16, 2014 10:38 am

Hi all,
AIX 7.1 on central instance, Kernel 700_REL patch 291. Same for newly cloned ABAP application server.
K, the app server starts ,registers in sm51 in the CI, even starts background jobs, but the problem is I cannot logon thru SAPGUI.
From the CI in strust it has a yellow triangle ;in sm59 the internal Connection RFC works fine. In sm51:goto:SNC_status message RFC Connection Not Possible.
I ain't using rdisp/myname cause I don't use it in the app server I'm using as the cloning source.
These are the errors from dev_w0:

RSEC: Error code 4 occurred for identifier "/HMAC_INDEP/RFC_INTERNAL_TICKET_4_TRUSTED_SYSTEM", (client independent)
LocFunc_ReadKeyFromDB(): Error in function: 'RSecDReadItem()' (errorcode=4) [sntxxhmac.c 1480]

Aren't these HMAC_INDEP/RFC_INTERNAL_TICKET_4_TRUSTED_SYSTEM errors supposed to occur only on Central Instances? I checked secstore entries but no red ones appear.
THanks for your suggestions, best regards.

Hello,

By any chance, is the system non-Unicode and this new dialog instance is unicode?

Also, while cloning, at AIX level, the locales required by SAP must be installed.

Cheers,
BT

Hi BT,
Nope, I copied over the /sapmnt/PRD and /usr/sap filesystems from our production app server, which is not Unicode. The locales match.
THanks ,

Turns out the code page converter cache was too small. This is controlled by rsts/ccc/cachesize as per documentation in notes 1946669 and 99699.
We learn something new every day right Snowy?
