Job Scheduling tool

Postby DrSidewalk » Tue Oct 29, 2013 9:03 am

I've just started to look at SAP Job scheduling tools and wondered if any of you guys have any choice words on the subject.

Just to let you know, so far I've looked at SAP CPS (Redwood), IBM Tivoli and product called CONTROL-M.

Briefly we just need to better control the scheduled jobs for ECC,CRM,BW,APO and SRM, but there may be more. So chain processing support is required (BW and APO), along with being able to control jobs across time-zones, which is a particular issue.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

This should be posted in the SAP Basis forum!

I used both Control-M and Tivoli and both work fine. I haven't tried Redwood.

Redwood is free as long as you only use it as your SAP scheduling tool. If you want to use your scheduling tool for OS level stuff or external system, than you will need the "paid" version of Redwood... IT's like those free Iphone games.. they are free but limited, and if you want to go further in the game, you will need to buy a shitload of berries!
