ad-hoc transports with Charm

Postby Zavaros » Thu May 23, 2013 2:38 pm

Hello,

in one of our SAP landscapes a 3rd party is responsible for applying transports (via Charm). They asked us to add the client 000 into the transport routes because they want to distribute authorization roles also.

Is there a way to create separate transport routes for Authorization transports (roles, profiles, auth. obects)?
... or is there a solution to "manually" add transports to client 000 through Charm?

We already have lot of problems with the transport buffers because the projects do not keep it clean ... I'll deny the request if all the transports will pile up in client 000 buffer.

Regards,

Zav

There is a few ways to skin this cat and as you are using Charm then maybe create a security project and create customizing requests assigned to a specific transport layer for securty (you create new transport layers in the transport routes bit of STMS).

Another way would be to give them their own client and set the default transport layer for that client to go to 000. (you define standard layers in the transport routes bit of STMS).

As PFCG is manual then they could always do this manually but then messing iit up and charm is not very charming when this happens
