Monitoring Trans SMW01, SMQ1, SMQ2

Postby TinTin_57 » Thu Mar 21, 2013 4:52 am

Hi

Just looking for advice from other Basis colleagues on which team are responsible in their organisations for monitoring the transactions SMW01, SMQ1 and SMQ2?

Our CRM team have been doing this to date but are now looking to pass this over to Basis. Do other Basis teams have this monitoring as part of their daily standard and are they monitored once daily, hourly etc?

Thanks

Hello,

it is a twilight zone. Both teams should check it.

If the queue is stuck because of failed RFC connection or file system stuck then it is Basis issue.
If the queue is stuck because application does not process the incoming IDOCs then it is Application issue.

and of course somebody should be able to decide what to do with stuck messages.

Once I was almost fired because I repaired a broken queue and the year old messages generated by developers during system setup went into the prod backend.

Regards,

Thanks Zav

I'll recommend that functional continue to monitor then refer to Basis when it becomes a technical issue. This is functional trying to save themselves time and is very much one of those 'it's a grey area lets give it to basis' type tasks.

Cheers

ask someone to monitor these daily and send an e-mail to both application and Basis teams.
