Using Software Update Manager Version: 1.0, Version: 6

Hi!
I'm using sum tool for the first time to implement sp stack. System is SOLMAN 7.01, so it's dual stack.
In the start SUM tool is asking for credentials, password for <sapsid>adm.
How come, it's asking the password for instance 1 and 0, for username <sapsid>adm. 1=java stack, 0=abap stack.
The error message is "Incorrect credentials provided for user: <sapsid>adm on host: xxxxx, instance number: 1"
There are of course profiles for instance 01, java, and instance 00, abap, in profile directory.
<SAPSID>_DVEBMGS00_xxxxx
<SAPSID>_SCS01_xxxxx

Why does it ask pw twice for same OS userid and does not accept the other one, SCS01_xxxxx?
SUM is SUM10SP06_3-20006540.SAR.
Does older version, SUM10SP05_7-20006540.SAR, behave in different way. Any experience??

thanks in advance!

problem solved according to note
Note 927637 - Web service authentication in sapstartsrv as of Release 7.00
Execute the following commands:
chown root:sapsys sapuxuserchk
chmod u+s,o-rwx sapuxuserchk

The authorization should now look, for example, as follows:
-rwsr-x--- 1 root sapsys 1509173 2008-02-29 08:21 sapuxuserchk

Binary sapuxuserchk exists in three directories, /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe, /usr/sapmnt/exe and for java
in /usr/sap/SID/SCS01/exe.
