Dev pkg transport for diff app servers problem?

Postby snoopyaui » Fri Dec 07, 2012 6:04 am

Hi.

Would there be a problem if a package is to be transported from a source SAP system (via transport file to be imported to target system) when the same dev package name already exists in the target system? The systems are from totally different app servers and companies so they are in no way found on same transport layer.

Thanks in advance.

What do you want to do ?

You have 2 Dev Systems named DE1 and import twice a transport with name DE1K901000 ? I think you can do that.

If you import the same objects like programs, .. from different systems the last imported will be the active.

2 Dev systems named LEC and PLD for example. I also read the ff. post somewhere so we might go try it:

Ensure that for the import your basis does NOT use the option "Overwrite Originals". You may have already z-objects on the target system having the same name and you do not want to overwrite them.

Thanks.
