Transaction fails to start

Postby yossil » Thu Apr 19, 2012 10:53 am

Hello! I have a user trying to access transaction FEBA, but when he enters the transaction to start it, the transaction gives him a time out dump. This is in Productive system only. It works just fine in DEV and QAs. Security created a special role with the transaction and it still doesnt work. What could be the reason? It seems like it aint security.Should i look for an inactive component? Missing objects?
Basis team says the trace doesnt show anything useful.

I'd appreciate your help.
Best regards,

Yosoal Silver

Hi,

Check whether other users also get the timeout when they start the transaction.

Run a database trace (ST05)and/or runtime analysis trace (SE30, or SAT in some of the newer
releases) for more information.

There could be a number of factors:

(i) Your time-out is shorter in PRD than the other systems.
(ii) EQ1 is an old copy of PRD (Or not a copy of PRD), so the queries run longer in PRD, or the database
uses, or not use, some indexes and/or table scans in PRD that are different from PRD.
(iii) We had a case of a not being applied to DEV and QAS causing performance issues in an area not,
at first glance, associated with the note. Perhaps QAS and DEV would have had the same issue,
but a note, not yet applied to PRD, fixed it?

In any case, start with the traces...
