Funds Center and Fund fields on IT0001

Postby LarryG » Tue Oct 22, 2002 4:36 pm

Hi, fellow SAPpers!

We have integration turned on between HR and Funds Management (FM) in version 4.6c. Ever since the integration was turned on several months ago, two fields have appeared in the Enterprise Structure section of IT0001: Funds Center and Fund.

These fields are not populated manually UNLESS there is no cost center assigned to the employee or the cost center is not tied to a fund center in FM. Then, we get prompted to enter a fund center. Otherwise, during normal processing, the cost center on IT0001 is validated against a funds center, and processing of IT0001 continues without populating the funds fields. No value for the associated funds center or fund is stored anywhere on IT0001 or in table PA0001.

We now have a potential need to populate these fields and thus store the values in PA0001 to be included in the transfer processes from HR to FI. Does anyone know how these fields (Funds Center and Fund) can be populated automatically when the cost center is validated against the funds center?

Funds Center and Fund fields on IT0001

Hi Larry,

The easier way to default Fund Center in IT 0001 is to use system enhancement PBAS0001 and write your custom code in function module EXIT_SAPFP50M_002, based on the relationship between Cost Center and Funds Center or any other relationship (for eg. Position or Business Area etc.)

Defaulting Fund is a different issue. It depends upon your FM hierarchy. If Fund Centers are tied to a Fund, then you may use the same user exit to default Fund. However, in case you may tie any Fund Center to any Fund (which would be the case normally), you may have to make FUND a required field in IT 0001 and make the user fill it during one of the Actions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the information. I will talk with my ABAPers about it and let you know what I learn.
