MSS - Job Shares - How to deal with them ?

Is anyone using MSS where there are two managers sitting in the one Chief position ?

We currently deal with this by having one person as the manager of the other but this is causing issues.

I seem to remember that we were advised back at ESS/MSS implementation, not to have two managers in a chief position, as workflows etc would not be sent to both - is this true, or are there other issues with this approach ?

Any advice / experiences would be appreciated.
