Define Period Work Schedules

Postby UmbertoM » Thu Jul 28, 2011 3:17 am

Hello People,
I am stuck up in the creation of work schedules.

I have created a scenario /requirement where i have 3 shifts in a day and i want my people work 24h / 7d.

I have created 3 shifts namely
Shift A: 6.00 am - 14.00
Shift B: 14.00 - 22.00
Shift C: 22.00 - 6.00 next day

I want people to keep on continously working.

Each shift may have 3 breaks and between shifts and the other must pass 11 hours.

Each employee works for 6 days in a row and have 2 days off in a row, so there is no difference between Saturday, Sunday or other days of the week.

Please advise me how to create DWS,Period Work Schedules especially how to edit the table T551A for 8 days (6+2)

Help/Guidance would be highly appreciated.

Hi Umberto

You will have to make entries for a full cycle into table T551A
A full round of the three shifts is 30 days (8 + 2 + 8 + 2+ 8+ 2)
A full cycle is when the Day shift starts again on Day 1, This will be 30 weeks ( 1 round X 7) later.
You will have to enter:
DDDDDDD
DOOAAAA
AAAAOON
NNNNNNN
OODDDDD
etc for 29 lines.
This will give you the progressive changes throughout the cycle.
You will also have to check whether you need different rates for weekend working/Overtime/Shift penalties etc.
When you set up your day type. It may be better to have different day types for each of the shifts or just use the same one all the way through.
"Each shift may have 3 breaks and between shifts and the other must pass 11 hours" Not clear what this means can you clarify?

Good luck

Hi Umberto,
Apologies for the misdirection I though a shift was 8 days + 2 days off.
In this case you will need 23 lines as the cycle is 23 weeks.

cheers
