Blank lines on payslip

Post by dwij777 » Wed Oct 22, 2008 2:26 pm

Hi Experts,
I am unable to remove the blank lines on the payslip. I use adrs-line0, adrs-line1, till adrs-line6 to get the details from IT6 . I have tried using P0006-stras, p0006-locat, p0006-ort01, p0006-ort02, put in a conversion 10 to remove blank lines but it does not work.
Why does it work on the GB payslip but not on the Irish payslip?
I used T512Q to change it. to offset from 6 and a length of 80 for all these Adrs lines with conversion 10.
I have searched this forum and OSS notes.
If anyone knows, please let me know

Cheers,
dwij

We use ADRS-LINE0, ADRS-LINE1 etc to show name and address on our GB payslips (CEDT forms) and it works fine and removes any blank lines. We were using the P0006 fields at one time but could never remove the blank lines. You might want to check that your feature ADDRS is set to pick up an address type for country 11 if you use ADRS-LINE0 etc.

Hi Sleepyjoe,
Thanks for your reply.
The feature ADDRS under RClas>CEDT > Molga >08 > set to 1 (Permanent address). CEDT > Molga > otherwise is also 1, so country 11 should pick up the permanent address too.
I have debugged and it shows that adrs picks up all the lines but did not find where this blank line is coming from.

Thanks,

Hi ,
Incidentally I dont want to use P0006 fields , just anything that will remove blank lines. I dont have any problem with GB payslips when using ADRS fields LIne0,line1, etc. The Irish payslip just show the blank lines after 2nd address line(locat).

Hi,

I wish I could help but I can't get blank lines to appear when I use PC00_M11_CEDT to run a GB payslip which has been copied to IE. When you say 'blank lines', I presume you mean empty fields on P0006? Just a thought, if you've set the line length to greater than 40, is the blank line a continuation of the address line which of course has no data in it because the standard length is 40?

Hi Sleepyjoe,
Thanks for your help.
I was debugging for so long and tried field conversion , did not work out.
I have reduced the line length and the blank lines have gone. However the line length was the same for GB . I will check the fields under pe51_checktab for GB and Ireland and check the lengths.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi Sleepyjoe,
Thank you,
It is something to do with it.
I have P0006-LAND1 with a rule specifying it is Ireland. that makes it difficult
So it is ADRS-LIne0,adrs-line1, line3,line4, line5. It works when using these. As soon as P0006-Land1 is used blank lines come in

Hi dwij77,

I suspect it's the rule in the payslip that's the problem. When I was testing it, I got Ireland to appear by making sure P0006-LAND1 was entered on the record itself and then having enough ADRS lines to cope with it. We go up to ADRS-LINE9 which is probably overkill as up to LINE7 should be enough. You could take the rule out and then use a dynamic action to populate LAND1 on the records in future when hiring and use LSMW or similar to update existing records if necessary.

Hi,
Sleepyjoe,
It works when using ADRS-line0 to line6. All the blank lines go away even if one line is not written in Infotype 0006 but it will not pick up Ireland at all. Once P0006-LAND1 is written after ADRS-LINE6, 'IE' comes on the payslip and so also the blank lines come in at random. So I have written a rule to get 'Ireland'.
I should try adrs-line0 till 9,maybe it will pick up the whole word 'Ireland'. I can use a dynamic action to populate IT6 (P0006-Land1) but will it pick up in the payslip if I use P0006-LAND1 in 'single fields'.
I have written to SAP and they have given an OSS note 406977. This is a composite note and there is another note 399851. I will have to read all the notes given and see what it has in store for me.

Thanks a million.
