Remuneration Statements - Upgrade from 4.7 to ERP 6.0

Hi,

Can we still use CEDT forms and RPCEDTG0 in ERP 6.0? On a test version we've been given to look at, our old payslips display amounts in the right places but there are no wage type or cumulation wage type texts. I get the impression we are supposed to use HRFORMS but if there's any way of avoiding having to dive into this straightaway, it would be useful to know what we have to do to keep our old payslips going.

Any pointers either way much appreciated.

certainly for the UK PE51 forms can still be used for payslips in ECC6.

I've used PE51 to check cumulation IDs etc and everything looking OK but still no texts on forms. I found a similar unanswered query in another forum but stupidly forgot to save the URL and now can't find it so can't go back to see if answer has been given yet. Can anybody confirm they still use CEDT forms in ECC 600/ERP 6 or are we being a bit Luddite in our approach?

Hi

We are using HRFORMS here on ECC 6.0. But that is only because that was a conscious decision - people love the nice layouts in an adobe pdf document-- I notice that the old PE51 forms do work in ECC 6.0. we can still use the standard sample form GR01 and get a payslip with all the wage type texts etc. I just did one to confirm before posting this.

Definitely HRFORMS appears to allow us more flexibility to design the form as per requirement apart from being more good looking - for example, I can format the smart form to include pre-paid postage stamp for example. and apparently the drawing of lines, windows etc is much easier. So worth considering a move away from PE51, but not absolutely essential.Only my two bit opinion.

I thought I had just confirmed this to you two posts up?

We use Pe51 for our payslips (oayslips = cedt) and we are on ECC6. Ive done this on more than one client for ECC6 in the last year or two. Gotta be something wrong at your end. You could debug the driver to see whats going on.

Hi,

Thanks for making it clear in the latest post that CEDT forms can still be used in ECC6. I wasn't sure if this was one of those situations where transactions are still active but aren't meant to be used. You're right about something wrong at our end as the forms aren't seeing the wage type texts in table ME512 - as soon as I change the table to T512T, the text appears but as we've got about 13,000 Multiple Employment records, I need to get ME512 sorted. The IMG suggests that ME functionality wasn't set up correctly when our BASIS guys did the upgrade on a copy of our Production system so they're about to apply the enhancement packages to see if they sort it out. Luckily this is only a preliminary look at ECC6 but it's useful to know where the problems are when we do the upgrade for real.

The reason we don't want to move to HRFORMS at this stage is that we have 40,000+ payslips per month which are printed on to pressure sealed stationery via variable data printing by an external provider and the text files from CEDT are ideal for this process. No doubt we'll have to bite the bullet one day but being able to use CEDT forms in the meantime means we get longer to learn HRFORMS and hopefully get it right.

Hi,

An update - the version of RPCEDTG0 in ECC 6 doesn't include the ME payslip functionality that exists in the 4.7 version so I guess SAP is forcing us down the HRFORMS route for our ME records. Our ABAPers have tried to create a Z version of the program but each change just generates another error so they're giving up on it and flagging it as a problem we'll have to solve when we upgrade for real.

Thanks guys for your input - now off to Google 'HRFORMS for Dummies' :-)

Wish I could help you... but the bulk of work in HRFORMS for us was done by a couple of ABAP consultants, both of whom have since left for greener pastures taking the knowledge with them. From the looks of it, the HRFORMS approach appears to be something like BW - it has infonets and metanets and things. However, please do search this forum for posts by me on HRFORMS. you will come across an important piece of information re transporting and activating HRFORMS in other systems, which you will want to retain for future use.

regards

If you dig around in SAPNet...I think do a search in OSS Notes... there is something called 'HRFORMS Cookbook'...released by SAP. It's a PDF document. Very handy...

The document I am referring to can be found in SAP Note 744147 - hrforms. It is one of the attachments at the bottom

Thanks bigchief and rangachary - I've got the document and will make sure to check the forum for pointers when we upgrade.

Hi,

Did you find an answer to your question wage type type text not appearing on payslip. I have the same issue. ME512 is not availible.

Thanks
A.
