GL journal entries restricted by setup

Postby rpinxt » Tue Oct 14, 2014 8:46 am

Dear All,

In using SAP journal entry uploads when processing in SM35 we often get error messages related to the setup of GL accounts.
For instance we use a GL account and on that line we used an order or a cost center and that cannot be due to the GL setup.

How can we find these things BEFORE we upload journal entries.
With other words can I generate an overview of some kind which GL account setups cause these things.
So for example if you set field A to value x in the GL setup then this will mean that in the journal entry you can not use a internal order.
Thanks.

There are few points to mention.
1. SM35 records cannot appear themselves. They are generated by a specially designed tool/program. That tool should be responsible for checking the objects, if it was coded correctly.
2. Even if the tool does what p.1 says, there is a time difference between SM35 batch input generation and execution. SAP objects may change between these moments. Therefore, you will never get 100% guarantee. But, of course, number of errors can be minimized.
