Create asset today obtained in May 2013

Postby sapppro » Fri Sep 26, 2014 5:54 pm

We have a group of 200+ serialized assets that were initially capitalized in May 2013 as a single asset without any serial number reference. Now they want to show these assets as 200+ individual serialized assets. All of the assets were obtained on the same date.

I'm hoping to post these assets as of today with the original value and let depreciation catch up?
As a test, I manually created a few assets using Tcode AS01. I used a Capitalization Date of May 2013. I posted some values using Tcode ABSO, transaction type 100, asset value date = today 9/26/14 (I didn't think I could use the original May 2013 date becuase its in a different year?). I'm not sure. I tried to post depreciation on this asset and nothing happened.

I would appreciate any feedback, ideas on a different strategy? Am I activating the asset correctly?

I did not find a method with ABUMN to go from one asset to many. If I entered multiples receiving from one asset, only the last asset was recognized.
