DMEE Pain001 file error contains invalid character

Postby green_tea » Mon May 26, 2014 9:51 pm

Hi

We are generating a payment file with 120 invoices in Production using the payment medium workbench CGI DMEE XML format.
However, bank had rejected the file due to some records contains invalid characters.

Pls look at the below records, the difference for the two records are due to a missing space in between the field <Amt Cccy>

Record 1 - Error
<Strd><RfrdDocInf><Tp><CdOrPrtry><Cd>CINV</Cd></CdOrPrtry></Tp><Nb>1601962</Nb><RltdDt>2014-04-11</RltdDt></RfrdDocInf><RfrdDocAmt><DuePyblAmt Ccy="USD">52.21</DuePyblAmt><AdjstmntAmtAndRsn><AmtCcy="USD">0.00</Amt></AdjstmntAmtAndRsn></RfrdDocAmt><AddtlRmtInf>4700003747</AddtlRmtInf></Strd>

Record 2 – Ok
<Strd><RfrdDocInf><Tp><CdOrPrtry><Cd>CINV</Cd></CdOrPrtry></Tp><Nb>1601956</Nb><RltdDt>2014-04-11</RltdDt></RfrdDocInf><RfrdDocAmt><DuePyblAmt Ccy="USD">13.62</DuePyblAmt><AdjstmntAmtAndRsn><Amt Ccy="USD">0.00</Amt></AdjstmntAmtAndRsn></RfrdDocAmt><AddtlRmtInf>4100100604</AddtlRmtInf></Strd>

Yes, CCy seems to be an attribute of the Amt tag.
What's your question?

Hi Gothmog

As i indicated below, record 1 the field <AmtCCy> is joined together where as record 2 field <Amt CCy> has a space inbetween.

Due to the missing space, it resulted an invalid character. If you have an XML file, you can try to remove the space inbetween of Amt CCy and it should give you some error in the XML editor.

Righfully, all records should have the same field as <Amt CCy> but only 1 or 2 records displayed as such. We need to find out how come the space is removed and how can we prevent this to happen.

Thanks.

Seems strange that it doesnt manage the attribute in the same way in different records. :?
Have you noticed any regularity as to where this happens in the file (number of characters, for example)?
